Journal Paper Review

Solar Energy, Elsevier

Solar Energy, the official journal of the International Solar Energy Society®, is devoted exclusively to the science and technology of solar energy applications. Solar Energy welcomes manuscripts presenting information not previously published in journals on any aspect of solar energy research, development, application, measurement or policy. The term "solar energy" in this context includes the indirect uses such as wind energy and biomass. Because of the international character of Solar Energy, articles that deal solely with the solar radiation or wind data base of a specific country are not normally considered suitable for Solar Energy. Submitted manuscripts may take the form of reports of original studies or reviews of significant prior work in a given area. All manuscripts are subject to reviews to assure accuracy, clarity, and long-term value.

Applied Energy, Elsevier

Applied Energy provides a forum for information on innovation, research, development and demonstration in the areas of energy conversion and conservation, the optimal use of energy resources, analysis and optimization of energy processes, mitigation of environmental pollutants, and sustainable energy systems. The journal publishes original papers, review articles, technical notes, and letters to the editor. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts which bridge the gaps between research, development and implementation. The breadth of coverage ranges from innovative technologies and systems of both fossil and renewable energy to the economic industrial and domestic use of energy with no or minor impact on the environment. Applied Energy is also concerned with the attendant problems of modeling and forecasting, conservation strategies, and the environmental, social and economic impacts of energy policies and usage, including climate change mitigation and other environmental pollution reduction.

Energy and Buildings, Elsevier

Energy and Buildings is an international journal publishing articles with explicit links to energy use in buildings. The aim is to present new research results, and new proven practice aimed at reducing the energy needs of a building and improving indoor environment quality.

Applied Thermal Engineering, Elsevier

Applied Thermal Engineering disseminates applied novel research about the development and demonstration of components, equipment, technologies and systems involving thermal processes for the production, storage, utilization, and conservation of energy.

Building and Environment, Elsevier

Building and Environment is an international journal that publishes original research papers and review articles related to building science and human interaction with the built environment.

Journal of Cleaner Production, Elsevier

The Journal of Cleaner Production is an international, transdisciplinary journal focusing on Cleaner Production, Environmental, and Sustainability research and practice. Through our published articles, we aim at helping societies become more sustainable.

Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, American Institute of Physics (AIP)

The Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy (JRSE) is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal covering all areas of renewable and sustainable energy relevant to the physical science and engineering communities. The interdisciplinary approach of the publication ensures that the editors draw from researchers worldwide in a diverse range of fields.

Conference Paper Review

eSim 2016, IBPSA-Canada’s biennial conference

eSim is the Canadian conference on building energy simulation. It is one of the main services offered by IBPSA-Canada. The eSim conferences provide a forum for the exchange of information between Canadian practitioners and researchers on the topic of building performance simulation.
The first eSim conference was organized and hosted by the CANMET Energy Technology Centre in 2001 in Ottawa. Responsibility for the organization of eSim conferences was then transferred to IBPSA-Canada, who has organized all subsequent eSim conferences. IBPSA-Canada holds eSim conferences biennially, in even-numbered years.

Coneference Organizattion

Student Advisor, 7th Mechanical Engineering Research Conference (MERC), Dalhousie University

The sixth annual Mechanical Engineering Research Conference (MERC) will be held on April 26th, 2013. All MEng, MASc, and PhD students enrolled as of September 2012 and who are not graduating in May/June 2013 must present during this event. The conference will offer students the opportunity to present their work in a conductive environment in front of peers and the interested community. The conference will follow a formal one-day schedule with a keynote speaker, parallel oral presentation sessions, and a lunchtime poster session. Students will prepare and present research related to thesis topics or ongoing coursework. All Mechanical Engineering faculty and graduate students are required to attend. Undergraduates, students/faculty of alternate disciplines, industry representatives, and interested public are welcome to attend.
Following to successful organizing the previous year conference I was assigned as the student advisor to guide and help new organizing committee members

Principal Co-chair, 6th Mechanical Engineering Research Conference (MERC), Dalhousie University

I was the prinicipal co-chair of organizing committee that was responsible to organize the conference for over 70 attendees, the conference included a keynote speaker and two parallel sessions. The organizing committee was responsible for communication with attendees, session moderators and potential sponsors, select keynote speaker, proceeding publications, budgeting, logistics, venue reservation and catering. Also, on the day of conference I was responsible for opening and closing speech. This greatly enhanced my leadership, mentoring, oral and written communications and time management skills.
